By the River Too
12" x 16" ~ Oil on Board
In Blairmore, on the edge of town, a path runs along the Crowsnest river though a stand of tall old cotton wood trees. I laid my blanket and paraphernalia out and started to paint the trees looking south from the path. I was just finishing that painting when I realized the blanket and I were covered in a host of angry ants that did not want to share their home. After some hopping around, accompanied by shouts from me, I decided to let them have their space and moved on to this spot. Here a wonderfully blue purple plant was blooming and tangled under the trees and all was back lit from the sun. It was the second painting by the river, thence the too.
